Who is this: Background Changes

I’m not liking the background color and I feel it is detracting away from the figure so for this session I’m beginning to tone it down.

It’s important that I get the background correct now as it would be much harder to paint it after the figure is done. Most of the brush work on these backgrounds use quick broad strokes for subtle and soft transitions of color. This kind of brush work is hard to do net to areas that I don’t plan on touching again. So I’ll get the background where I want it then refine the figure and everything else on top of it.
