I spent most of my time today doing all the crazy tech stuff that it takes to move my site to a new host and domain. Welcome to chrisbeaven.com!
My energy was lagging by the time I got to work on the Princess Bride drawing so I sat down and worked on smaller thing, just loving the process of drawing.

One Minute Gestures
The one minute gesture drawings from The Natural Way to Draw are still a lot of fun. Not only am I drawing people in everyday activities but I’m learning how to treat folds in regular clothing but also how to draw hats, shoes, ties, collars that wrap around necks and an ellipse every now and then.
Daily Composition and Sketch
I really need to bring more presenece to any time I go outside and see other people. I’ve gotten out of the pracitce of doing that and it’s becoming impossible to pull a figure from my memory. Today was no different, I leaned heavily on a stock image for this composition… which I don’t really feel is a composition at all.
It’s time to recommit a bit more to these.
What went well, what was awesome! Celebrate It!
I worked hard to move a ton of WordPress data over to my new domain so welcome to chrisbeaven.com
What needs work? What did you learn?
Recommit to my daily sketches and compositions.
How am I going to Optimize moving forward?
Maybe I’ll review some of the amazing compositions from artists that I have in my growing image bank before doing my own composition. This should instill in me the importance of not just drawing from my memory but making it means something.
