Taking My Time at Life Drawing

This morning at life drawing I was in the zone and taking my time. I didn’t “finish” a lot of drawings but that isn’t a big deal to me, these life drawing session are for the study of the figure not a race to figure out how to make a sellable drawing in 30 minutes or less.

I believe that the figure is the most engrossing subject matter that I work from currently. There is no other subject that I get as lost in rendering. Which introduces a bit of a dilemma, I’m not wealthy enough to hire a figure for long term poses for some master work that I haven’t thought up yet. So how am I going to make the figure a big part of my artistic journey if I have to rely on group studio sessions? Hopefully photos will be a good alternative.
