I switched to graphite for this drawing and took my time on it. I wanted to do the best I could.
I think I finally captured the likeness of Christopher Reeve but I need a lot of work on how I’m shading the face. I had to pull in some ink on this one to get the higher value that I was wanting but I think that through off the whole drawing. Tomorrow I’m going to start this one again and keep it more simple with just graphite and go for higher contrast just with the graphite alone.
What went well?
This is the best likeness of Christopher Reeve out of all the drawings.
What didn’t go so well?
The shading is too haphazard.
What did I learn?
Bringing in a very dark medium like ink will through off all the other values for graphite.
