Session #570, Work #527

So I ran out of oil primed panels tonight. I have a bunch drying but it takes a week for each coat, and I do two coats. So tonight I painted on an un-oil-primed panel, just a regular store bought panel with the factory acrylic gesso primer. I can honestly say without a doubt that oil primed is a million times better then the factory primer. Of course it could be a different story if I used a couple coats of good acrylic gesso, but that test will be for later. I’m just happy to know that all the priming work I’m doing on weekends is paying off.

The painting tonight was simple and quick, only and hour. After the six hours and multiple sessions I spent on the last one its nice to cut loose a bit.
