Session #485, Work #462

Tonight I wanted something easy to paint. So I decided to take some advice from Jamie at the critique class today and paint light.

Honestly this was an easy painting. I didn’t have to worry too much about drawing. But I did have to focus on paint manipulation and the best way to get the light transition as subtle as possible. This is one of those type of painting that could take a person tons of hours to do perfectly with layer upon layer of glazes to make a really amazing since of light. But, I have to say I find the whole process really boring. And I think that is only due to the subject matter. If I was working on this light transition for days and the subject was recognizable then I think it would keep my interest for a long while.

I think I will have to try this.
