Today was a very un-productive day so I set out to make up for it by working hard on a painting. After two and a half hours of painting I’m extremely happy with what I produced and it made up for the rest of the day of accomplishing almost nothing.
I walked around the apartment with my lamp randomly putting light on items laying around the apartment. When I put the light on this wine bottle it cast a really intense light on the wall in its shadow and I wanted to instantly capture it in a painting. I knew that it was so bright that I would have to tone down all the values in the rest of the painting which would be a good challenge. I love relative value.
