Session #414, Work #394

Its quite a challenge when I’m forced to look at an almost blank part of our apartment and figure out something interesting to paint. I turned to my phone to help pick out some interesting compositions for this painting, and I like what I ended up with.

The great thing about a cell phones today is that their cameras are not too bad, and most importantly it is always with you. So it wasn’t that hard to snap a bunch of pics of tonight’s randomly chosen room and direction. Within about 10 minutes I had edited several photos on my phone by turning them gray-scale and cropping, eventually choosing this interesting and somewhat dark composition. There is something about a dark doorway and what exists beyond that stirs the imagination.
