I enjoyed painting the glass on white so much yesterday that I did it again today. It wasn’t a long painting but I think I got the basic idea of the still life and accomplished it well for only an hour.
The canvas I used today was primed with a Gamblin Oil Ground. I have been meaning to try this out for a while but have never got around to using the canvas. I wasn’t very happy with the way it worked, the canvas repelled the paint too much. I didn’t do much sanding to the oil ground after letting it dry so that could be the issue. Considering I have a large can of it, I’m going to have to try it again and this time do some light sanding after it drys. Hopefully I can achieve the perfect absorption for my paintings.
