Session #266, Work #262

I liked the idea of having two items very similar next to each other but one in shadow and one in direct light. This way I could see directly the change in color and value on two items with matching surfaces.

This was quite a lesson in warm shadows, cool shadows as well as warm and cool direct lighting. The hardest part was getting the correct value and color on the onion in shadow. It had to be darker but still hold the warmth. It was an interesting challenge so I spent a bit more time on the painting.
