After a great day hiking I was really excited to begin another painting, but my energy for this painting began to dwindle early on.
Overview
Great day today, Super Bowl day. Even though we do not care about the game it was fun to watch, although it interrupted my painting. After a great day hiking I was really excited to begin another painting, but for some reason my energy for this painting began to dwindle early on. The lack of focus shows in some places. Although, I did paint the background first with a very large brush and it was quite fun and worked well. Hopefully tomorrow I will get my creative energy back.

How can I improve the drawing
I used the envelope today but didn’t care much about accuracy and didn’t have enough energy to focus a ton on the drawing and this showed. I will paint the dolphins again with more focus on drawing and see how I do.

How can I improve the values?
I still can’t hit those really high whites here. And my values on the base of the sculpture was way off. It seems to be very misleading due to its color variation.
Edges
Not much focus on edges.
Composition
I kept the composition simple and didn’t focus on it at all. The only thing I wanted to do was keep the entire figure in the painting.
Color
Not much of a focus on color here. I just recognized which areas were warm and which were cool and tried to keep them somewhat true.
