Overview

The setup
The setup

This was the second half of the painting, the drawing was already done and most of the colors were already set. All I had to do was pop out the areas I liked and just have fun with the painting.

I went back to my normal palette in order to test if I could produce the colors used from the previous palette. I’m glad to say that I found it to be no issue at all to reproduce every color there. Although I may add a lighter yellow on my palette at some point. It would be nice to barely warm up my white or hit some very high notes easier within yellow. It may be easier to replace my cadmium yellow medium, but I just have a ton of it.

How can I improve the drawing

I fixed a couple of the drawing errors but didn’t go out of my way to fix the whole painting. Yes, I was being lazy… We had a nice dinner out, celebrating valentines day, I didn’t want to be to serious tonight I just wanted to have some fun.

Value

The value comparison. I did something a bit different this time by cutting out pieces of the painting and laying them directly over the photo to compare some values.

How can I improve the values?

Overall I’m happy with the values. There is still room for improvement though.
