Rosa Parks
Called the mother of the civil rights movement Rosa Parks gave most of her life in service to a cause greater than herself.
I picked this photograph of her to draw from because it depicted her courage and bravery while at the same time showing her compassion.
Thank you Rosa Parks for being a hero to us all.

I’ve finished the Rosa Parks drawing after working her dress and more form in her head.

Session 7
You can call this “pick and shovel” work. Lots of filling in with value but no subtlety.

Session 6
The challenge for Rosa Parks dress is trying to instill form into a very dark area with subtle variations.

Session 5
The basic values are set for Rosa Parks face which makes the bulk of this drawing done.

Session 1
I wasn’t able to commit a lot of time on the start of my Rosa Parks drawing today but I made progress.
