I went to Langley WA, to join the Whidbey Island Sketchers and it was a bit different than I was expecting.
I had a great time but it was a challenge try to draw any or all of the people. I had at most 5 seconds for each drawing and then I was left with my memory of what I saw because the subject has moved. Soon, I was just having fun sketching quickly and getting the impression of the person.
I realized while drawing that I was doing a lot of hats and glasses…




I feel this sketch group may have been a much needed break from monochrome starts even if just for the day.
Maybe not something you need to do on a weekly basis, but another tool in your toolbox for when you need something different.
Yeah, I agree, I should break it up a little each week.
