Painted in February 2017 this painting represents a turning point in my skill to render the human figure.

I painted this figure at the beginning of 2017 and after a whole bunch of other figure paintings on gray.

This painting represents a great milestone in my painting career as I’m feeling that I’m able to pull a painting of a figure together with ease.

It’s painted on watercolor paper that has two coats of gesson on both sides to protect it from the oil paint. The paper was then mounted to a birch panel hand made by my dad.

If you would like to read more about all that went into making this painting please see it’s dedicated page.
