This was a difficult painting because all the highly saturated colors and the high contrast elements right next to each other. I chose to paint this image specifically for the contrast between complimentary colors and light to dark, it’s passionate. I needed to keep my paint mixtures very clean and also let the painting dry a bit between layers.
I’m enjoying the almost abstract quality of the painting and it’s dynamic movement with the clouds and the reflections of the clouds.
