Even after two and a half hours working on this portrait in gouache, I still didn’t finish. I’m sure I will get better with gouache the more I work with it. For now I think its really great training.
I’m so used to oil that its hard to get my head around a medium that doesn’t move every time I touch it but it does have it’s advantages. There have been a few times when I wish my oil paint was dry so I could just put this highlight easily over a dark background, but with Gouache that is no problem.
