Pattie: Hair Refinement

There is a precarious balance between sharp and hard edges with hair, too sharp and it looks like straw, too soft and it’s cotton candy.

Lately the photos of the painting have been turning out quite awful and the edges I speak of can’t be seen well. In fact in this photo today most of the details of the hair cannot be seen at all. There is no substitute for seeing a painting in person, at least when my hope studio lighting is involved.

I am an Artist and a programmer currently living in the amazing state of Washington. I have a passion for art, but I'm stubborn as hell with it. My day is complete only when I do some piece of art each day, no matter how small. "There was a dream that was Rome. You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it would vanish, it was so fragile."
