The morning after every session I post about my progress and review, which creates a loop of constant refinement and improvement.
Sometimes when I post it is very short because I already know what needs to be done next on the painting and I have no need to write about it. But other times, like today, I find myself knowing that something just isn’t right with the portrait but unable to pinpoint what that is. Something may be wrong with the drawing, or maybe the modeling of the form, but I do know that the emotion I want is not there, I haven’t captured it yet. Today I will check the drawing again and continue the constant refinement.
