Today is a bit of a milestone in this painting. I’ve fully covered the entire painting with oil paint. YAY!
I still have a long way to go on this painting but I like to celebrate every bit I finish on it. Every single part is as important as any other and I want to do my best on every thing I work on. I feel these frequent celebrations are important and they keep my motivation high.
Next week I will have a lot of vacation time and I hope to devote a lot of my time to this painting. I’m even thinking about doing a marathon painting session. Something like 8 hours in one day, if I can keep the energy up for it, and as long as the quality doesn’t suffer.
What went well?
I covered the whole canvas with paint!
What didn’t go so well?
The last bit only took about 40 minutes to do and I didn’t have much motivation to start on another part of the painting so I’m going to move to some work on my website and my book.
What did I learn?
Celebrate the small stuff and celebrate the big stuff!
