I worked on the third layer of paint over the Cd’s on Patrick’s shelf and I like them a lot more now that I broke up their edges.
What went well?
I like using strokes to contradict forms as a means for greater energy in the work.
What didn’t go so well?
I’m behind my schedule so I only worked for about 45 minutes on the painting today.
What did I learn?
A light layer of medium on a dry canvas not only serves as a great restorer of color and value to dull paint but it really helps with newer brush strokes to glide over the areas with softer edges.
Today’s Sketch’s
I love just starting at a random place on a tree and following the complexity out from there. I soon become overwhelmed with the complexity of nature and there is no way I can copy it exactly but I love it all the same. Life is just amazing!
