Patrick: Blacks and Blues

Home alone on Christmas day is not so bad when I can have some awesome quiet de dedicated time to painting.

I’m enjoying weaving together all kinds of different blacks and blues in the right side of this couch to give it as much energy as I can. I’m not full done with the couch but I think I’m done with this right side.

What went well?

I was successful in giving the couch some energy on this side, not it doesn’t look so flat and dead.

What didn’t go so well?

I love that this is a hard question to answer sometimes. I wasn’t working on a really difficult part of the painting so there wasn’t a lot of challenges. The only thing I can remark upon is time, I would love to have much more stamina.

What did I learn?

I really enjoy the hatching brush strokes I use for these areas.

I am an Artist and a programmer currently living in the amazing state of Washington. I have a passion for art, but I'm stubborn as hell with it. My day is complete only when I do some piece of art each day, no matter how small. "There was a dream that was Rome. You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it would vanish, it was so fragile."
