I spent another hour painting the items on my desk and keeping true to the detail.

I spent this session painting the collection of stuff on my desk.

I think I have finished Kiddie, I still have to put whiskers on him after the paint is fully dry though.

I’m still working on more fur for Kiddie.

As I’m painting Kiddie’s fur I like how it looks but when I take a photo of it I think the edges are too sharp.

I’m working on the other half of Kiddie’s face today trying to faithfully render fur.

We are back home after a long vacation and I’m still motivated by this painting. Today I paint fur.

Before we go on vacation for a week, I’m working on the sweater texture of this painting.

After a long day of errands and Christmas dinner with friends I’m painting sweater texture.

I’m finding it very difficult to express the texture in the sweater I’m wearing.

I’m working out from my face now refining small patches of the painting and all the while thinking of texture.

I’m getting more detailed with my portrait this time on the light side of my face.

Most of all the block-in is done so now I’m going back into each area with detail.

I spent an hour just painting my hand.

I’m basically just filling in some general color and values for areas now, no details just an under layer of paint.

For this session I’m working on all of the background items, just giving them a basic blockin.

I spent more time just blocking in the sweater I’m wearing.

We had a long day away from home today and I was super tired when I started painting at 10pm, so I chose something easy.

The painting doesn’t look like it changed much from last session, I’m improving on some shadow areas around my portrait.

I’m painting the pull-over jacket that is draped over the chair I’m sitting in.

Thanks to Andrew Wyeth I’m paying attention to the smallest details even in the background.

For this session I started painting Kiddie. He is very dear to me so I want to get his likeness correct.

As I block in the clothing I’m thinking about the textures in Andrew Wyeth’s paintings.

After visiting the Seattle Art Museum Andrew Wyeth retrospective I’m highly influenced by my most favorite artist.

I worked on the other half of my face today and was having fun with all the colors.
