Satsuma Still Life 2021

Before this painting I had been drawing daily for months and not touching any paints. Because of this a lot of time time was spent getting familiar with my regular oil setup again.
For this painting I just focused on establishing the major masses, covering the canvas with oil, setting up my value ranges and blocking in most of the colors at first. Just getting back into the swing of things.
I have to say that starting an oil painting after all these months was like a wonder breath of fresh air. I love painting in oils!
