Fatigue

One in a long series of figure paintings.
Sessions
Fatigue: Finished?
I finished the rest of the background today and I’m debating if I’m actually done.
see the postFatigue: Finishing Foot
I finished up the foot on the figure today, it’s not as detailed as I would like but I’m not sure it needs to be.
see the postFatigue: More Darker Background
I did more of the darker background for this session.
see the postFatigue: Darker Background
I was influenced by an earlier figure painting of mine with a darker background.
see the postFatigue: Greens and Blues
I love the greens and blues that I see in skin especially when working on feet and hands.
see the postFatigue: Knee and Calf
I’m happy that I’m well enough now to get back to work on this painting.
see the postFatigue: Sick
So I have contracted some illness and I’m very sick, I still painted today but it was very simple.
see the postFatigue: Foot
For this session I worked on the models foot.
see the postFatigue: Sharp Edges
I’m always thinking about edges and trying not to make them too sharp.
see the postFatigue: Saturation
You might notice a difference in the colors of the painting in this post from every other post of the same painting.
see the postFatigue: Filling In
I’m just filling in the gaps for this session.
see the postFatigue: Pushing Color
I’m working on the other leg and pushing the color a bit.
see the postFatigue: Thigh
I’m still working on the thigh trying to get the shape how I want it.
see the postFatigue: Hidden Hand
There is a hand barely hidden by the body, only half of two fingers are showing, but it needs to look like a hand.
see the postFatigue: Curves
For this session I worked on the hip and thigh of the figure.
see the postFatigue: Shadows
For today’s session I worked on the shadows a bit.
see the postFatigue: Hand
I spent the whole session working on nothing but the hand.
see the postFatigue: Slowly
I’m moving really slowly through this painting.
see the postFatigue: Just Painting
I’m running out of things to talk about on this painting right now so I’m just painting.
see the postFatigue: Anatomy Helps You See
Having a basic artistic knowledge of anatomy helps you see what to paint.
see the postFatigue: Skin Colors
The photograph deadens natural skin colors.
see the postFatigue: Small Changes
Each session is only bringing some small changes now.
see the postFatigue: Getting Detailed
The block-in is done and now it’s time that I start getting detailed.
see the postFatigue: Legs and Hands Blockin
I’m done blocking in most of the figure and I will be able to work on the fun stuff next session.
see the postFatigue: Putting Paint Down
This session I’m just feeling too tired to do more than just put paint down.
see the postFatigue: Little Progress
I had little progress on this session, I spent most of my time fixing what I didn’t like from last session.
see the postFatigue: A Mess of Strokes
I’m not focusing enough on what I’m doing and its leading to a mess of strokes.
see the postFatigue: Oil Started
It feels like a long while since I painted and my actions with a brush are a bit rusty.
see the postFatigue: Drawing Refinement Done
I’ve finished the drawing refinement and next session I will be starting with oil.
see the postFatigue: Drawing Refinement
I spent close to an hour doing some drawing refinement on this new painting.
