Not My Style

I really don’t think that drawing this way is my style. Well, I at least know how I prefer to draw and this way is not it.

For this drawing I worked with the big general shapes first and modeled everything with the big masses in mind. The approach that I favor is working with exact lines from the beginning and building the drawing as I go.

There is something about the clean lines and a page un marred by multiple lines and lots of erasing.

I spent a lot of time preparing for this drawing because I’m going to make a painting of it. I’ve had a canvas with me for close to 10 years now that is 24 inches x 48 inches and I’ve never known what to paint on it. I think it is time to use it.
