Today was a short session of actual drawing but a very long art session full of meetings with other artists and work on websites, but the Mr Rogers drawing is finished!
I’m really happy with this drawing. It’s done very traditionally and simply which I feel reflects Fred Roger’s character well. I loved all the different textures in this drawing also.
The big highlight of my day though was the discussion with other artists in the Optmize.me coach program. We were discussing how to get started in art, where do you start and where to focus. My biggest take away from the discussion is that art is an exploration of learning materials, techniques and most importantly learning about our own emotions.
One of the most important aspects of art for me is to cultivate my sensitivity to my own feelings and emotions because this is the well spring where all creativity flow. If we don’t have a deep connection with our own emotions it’s hard to communicate and do art that is authentic.

What went well, what was awesome! Celebrate It!
The Mr Rogers drawing is finished! Plus I had a wonderful discussion with other artists over zoom.
What needs work? What did you learn?
I was getting very frustrated with time when the website and tech stuff was taking longer than I wanted.
How am I going to Optimize moving forward?
Constantly check-in on my emotions, get in touch with the moment, and see that everything happening is perfect and that I can respond to everything well. I just have to keep working at it.
