Moving Forward Slowly

Not much to say about today’s session, more of the same just moving forward slowly.

I’m using more tools for this drawing than I have for may of my previous drawings. The same charcoal pencils, conte 1710. But I’m doing a lot of smudging and blending with paper towels, brushes and Q-tips.

I find that I can vary the texture with different ways of blending, or not blending at all. Even though I’m blending a lot,  applying the charcoal in a direction that accentuates the curvature of the form is still noticeable.

I am an Artist and a programmer currently living in the amazing state of Washington. I have a passion for art, but I'm stubborn as hell with it. My day is complete only when I do some piece of art each day, no matter how small. "There was a dream that was Rome. You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it would vanish, it was so fragile."
