I’ve had a wonderful morning of art before I started my “real job” where I added in more still life oil painting work.
I’m very unhappy with the photo of this painting. It just doesn’t do the painting justice. That is a good thing, I’m glad it looks better in person. Or the problem could be my camera and Lightroom skills, or lack there of.
I worked further into the main actor of this still life, the very bright orange on the edge of the wood. I’m getting deep into the nuances of oranges show with the flesh of the orange and all its tiny details. Tons of fun.
I also put up my first YouTube video where I talk about how to do art daily. The video goes along with this new art tip.

I also did some research on my next Fandom Fitness drawing which is going to be Mr Rogers.

I haven’t picked a composition yet or started on it but until then check out some of my previous Fandom Fitness Drawings.

Warm-up
The normal 15 minute warm-up in graphite.

Form Study
This exercise from The Natural Way to Draw book was supposed to be a form study of the whole clothed figure but I just wanted to focus on studying the head and its form. Each of these drawings took me about 15 minutes, they are supposed to be faster.

Daily Composition and Sketch
I had a wonderful conversation with an elderly man at the nephrologist yesterday and so I drew him today. Then I sketched a bowl of fruit from a stock photo.

What went well, what was awesome! Celebrate It!
I had a wonderful day with more still life oil painting work. I love oil painting!
What needs work? What did you learn?
I lost a lot of focus today and was distracted easily.
How am I going to Optimize moving forward?
Use my 20 minute timer to always ask “What’s important now?” and make sure that I’m focused on it.
