I’m definitely out of my comfort zone when painting a portrait from the live model and I’m super excited to work hard on this and improve.

Great. A lot of artists, dare I say most artists, stick with their skill set. I’m fond of saying that Jackson Pollock would have been a better abstract painter if he painted landscapes on Sundays. If you mostly work from photos, working from a live model is an outstanding exercise.
