The life drawing group had a wonderful time at Ann’s home which was quite beautiful and provided many opportunities for the model in a real interior.
Of course I did a monochrome painting of the model in this very cool settee. I spent the first two 20 minute pose times to establish the drawing of the model I wanted to get this correct as I really liked the pose.
I was quickly wishing that I had a larger canvas because her head was so small that It was almost impossible to get any detail in the face. The good thing is that we are going to do the same pose again next week. I’m thinking that I will work on a larger version of this painting before next weekend.
I snapped some cell phone shots of Shawna in the pose before we left so I can use those to compose a nice painting, get the drawing down, some value and spend three hours finishing it up next weekend.
