Life Drawing: Chris

The life drawing session went well. Patience and time wins again.

I draw so much from photos that sometimes I feel like I’ve lost the ability to draw from the model. But, I don’t think that is the case.

I think I’m just missing the practice of dealing with a different environment. One in which I have to calm myself, slow down and concentrate. That is much easier to do at home but not so easy when your running a life drawing session.

  1. Yeah, I don’t know exactly how different it is from exercise and coaching, but I know I try hard to workout with my class, especially when I have only one or two people. It’s really hard to focus on my workout, continue pushing myself, and still watch everyone in class to give pointers or corrections as needed. I imagine it’s just as difficult for you as the monitor for art. It explains why you have on occasion said your life drawings were not as favorable as at home.
