I’ve drawn this person several times and I’m not sure if I have ever drawn her well. For some reason I find her figure very hard to draw well. It is quite interesting though, how some figures are easy for me and others are hard.

I beginning to be able to recall more of the human body from memory, as you can see by my simplified figures on my warmup page.




Trying out some conte crayon on my newsprint and it didn’t go so well.

I’m beginning to think that when shading the forms, less is more. I tend to make every thing kinda hairy looking rather than turning the form well.

Her torso was in a great position to see many bony landmarks and muscles but I was struggling to shade the forms well. I really need to work on this because this drawing could have went much faster and turned out really well if I could just turn the form with value easily.
