My wife is now programming our workouts every day and before today I thought her programming would be easy. By the time I was able to sit down and do some life drawing with new masters academy I was dead tired. I was struggling just to keep drawing tonight but I powered through it and got the work done.
Even though I was dead tired I started with my warmup page. I always think it’s a good thing to warmup your arm and mind before a drawing session.

These charcoal figure drawings are still slow going for each pose. My focus i not on trying to get the whole figure in put to try and get as much accuracy into every stroke I put down on the newsprint.
Instead of drawing a single line for the front contour of the face I actually draw the complex contour of the face. This, of course, takes much more time to do so all the drawing don’t get past much more than the head and shoulders.

I’m not sure how I feel about the scratchy quality of these drawings. It does have some character, but at the same time it lacks the fluidity that shows off the female figure. I believe that once I become more confident in drawing accurately that I can make all my strokes more fluid.
Well, apparently I’m not working you hard enough if you can draw in straight line without wavering….
