This is the first time I have ever painted a lemon cucumber. Actually I was just introduced to the existence of lemon cucumbers only a week ago. They are in every way just like a cucumber on the inside, but packaged into a lemon shape.

This painting went well, I could have done better on the drawing though. I will have to focus on drawing a bit more for tonight’s painting. I really liked the stark white of the inside of the cucumber also. I had to pull the values of everything else down a bit just so pure white from the tube would match. Even after doing that though I feel like I could have brought the valued down even more, because on top of the stark white of the cucumber were very small highlights from the moisture inside the cucumber. It was quite a challenge.

My day is complete only when I do some piece of art each day, no matter how small. "There was a dream that was Rome. You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it would vanish, it was so fragile."
