I continue to challenge myself with my Pokemon drawing today by imagining how light will fall on an imaginative form.
You can’t really see it because I drew it so light but up at the top left corner of the paper is an arrow pointing down and to the right. This is my imaginative light source. But what I’m really having trouble with is where the light source is positioned between the viewer and the Pokemon.
So far the light source is just a little in front of the Pokemon but for the Aerodactyl it looks closer to him/her. Not only am I dealing with imaginary forms and imagining how light will fall on them but I have to make sure it is uniform throughout all forms and characters.
It’s a great challenge!

Warm-up and DrawABox exercises
The normal 15 minute warm-up in graphite.

The challenges continue with the 250 box challenge. I’m definitely seeing the improvement in my boxes now. I only have 12 pages left and hopefully by them I will have progressed further.

This is the post where I started the draw a box challenge but I’m not sure if I see a huge difference from then and now.
Long Modeled Drawing in Watercolor
I’m on to my second long modeled drawing in water color for this schedule out of the Nicolaides book. This one is going much faster. Maybe at some point in the future I will take watercolor more seriously and devote some time to it. Knowing how to work it well would definitely improve my daily sketches and compositions.

Daily Composition and Sketch
I love drawing my cats for a daily sketch!
My daily composition is of a guy working at the grocery store stocking the produce section. I didn’t use my brush pen for this drawing but continued with the Micron pen I use for my draw a box exercises.

What went well, what was awesome! Celebrate It!
The Pokemon drawing is coming along well even though I keep changing my approach I still love the challenge it is giving me for imagining how light will fall on the forms.
