Fundamentals: Figure Starts and a Long Drawing

Some more figure starts today and a longer drawing that wasn’t going well at all.

I’m doing this figure starts to get better at quickly judging the gesture of the figure and accurately massing in the proportions with straight lines. I believe that I will have to do a ton more in order to improve, maybe a few hundred…

For the long drawing I was having a ton of trouble because I was constantly correcting my drawing. My initial gesture and block in of the figure was very inaccurate. This definitely proves that I need to work more on getting those initial proportions correct before moving on to a longer drawing.
