Fundamentals: Back to Vine Charcoal

Today I did a bunch of drawing and a long drawing with vine charcoal.

After watching some videos of Studio Incamminati artists making some excellent drawings with vine charcoal I purchased the materials and tried it myself today. The whole experience was very frustrating because I’ve lost the knack for working with this loose charcoal and the drawing was just not doing what I wanted it to. Well, I can’t expect my first to be the best, I’m going to have to do a bunch more of this in order to get better.

I am an Artist and a programmer currently living in the amazing state of Washington. I have a passion for art, but I'm stubborn as hell with it. My day is complete only when I do some piece of art each day, no matter how small. "There was a dream that was Rome. You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it would vanish, it was so fragile."
