I’m still trying to simplify my strokes as much as possible for the flowers and orange still life for this second session. In some places I was able to describe forms very will with minimal brushwork, but in other places the abstract shapes look a bit stilted.

Overall I’m very happy with this painting. I have to constantly look at the forms that I’m painting and ask if what I have done describes it enough. I really like how simple the two yellow flowers are and how well they work, but the white daisies seem to be a very confusing jumble. It seems that there is a secondary art form in learning to simplify elegantly.
