Inspired by another artists work seen on social media I did this figure sketch in oil. Like most things, I need a lot more practice.
I marveled at the simplicity of the colors used for this figure sketch by Stephen Early. I was trying to repeat his mixtures, but all I seemed to come up with was either too high chroma or very muddy.


Nice! I’m curious what the color palette was.
Looks great to me. I’d lean more toward the high chroma and avoid the mud… but it, of course, depends on what you are trying to achieve. I would also love to know about the color palette.
