Figure Painting: Before a Break

This is the last time I work on this figure painting for over a week. I’m going to let it dry then work into it with some transparent layers.

One thing I really need to remember when I’m painting in oil is to pre mix a selection of colors on my palette. I find that I’m barely putting any paint on the canvas. I only mix up enough paint for one or two brush loads before I have to remix that color again. What I end up doing it starving my palette as well as my painting.

I am an Artist and a programmer currently living in the amazing state of Washington. I have a passion for art, but I'm stubborn as hell with it. My day is complete only when I do some piece of art each day, no matter how small. "There was a dream that was Rome. You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it would vanish, it was so fragile."
