It seems that this whole month is going to be full of short 1 hour figure in oil sessions. So far in the past week I’ve been so busy that it has been hard to spend more than 1 hour.

Today’s painting didn’t go as well as yesterdays. I struggled a lot with the drawing. This is surprising considering all of the figure drawings I was doing last month and how comfortable I’ve become with drawing the figure. I would have to attribute my struggle here to the size I was working in and my different procedure.

I was attempting to fit the entire figure into the space of the canvas (8×10). It seems that the pre defined space really made the drawing much more difficult. I’m almost thinking that I should go back to charcoal for the rest of the month and focus completely on keeping the figure inside and an area and maybe value also. But I’m not sure…
