The focus of this figure color study is a model with a darker skin tone. Many of my previous figure studies turned out a bit orange so I’m trying to keep the skin tones for this model accurate.
I was happy with the drawing and how I was able to turn the figure well with the value and color.


In the setup shot you can see just how different the skin tones are from the female model. I may have pushed the color a bit too close to gold/orange though.

These colors tests are super helpful when done before the painting to help establish some good color on the palette and it reinforces the idea of turning the form through value.
