Taking my last session one step further I added a second tone, or duotone, to this painting.
The addition of a simple flesh tone really helped me figure out a much more accurate value range throughout the figure. I had to darken the shadow side up much more than I originally thought.
I was also trying to work on edges while adding in the light value of the skin, while also working on the drawing more and more.
Overall I really like this process and I’m still contemplating doing the same thing with multiple paintings for a while until I can get a better grasp on the process.
