Taking my last session one step further I added a second tone, or duotone, to this painting.

The addition of a simple flesh tone really helped me figure out a much more accurate value range throughout the figure. I had to darken the shadow side up much more than I originally thought.

I was also trying to work on edges while adding in the light value of the skin, while also working on the drawing more and more.

Overall I really like this process and I’m still contemplating doing the same thing with multiple paintings for a while until I can get a better grasp on the process.

I am an Artist and a programmer currently living in the amazing state of Washington. I have a passion for art, but I'm stubborn as hell with it. My day is complete only when I do some piece of art each day, no matter how small. "There was a dream that was Rome. You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it would vanish, it was so fragile."
