This is definitely a dull night stand sketch. I’m in the middle of an artistic slump right now, I’ve had them before and I will work through it. But currently I’m just trying new things and seeing if I can improve my motivation with something different.

The something different tonight was getting out of my studio and using graphite. I must say I’m not very excited about graphite. It can be as tedious as pen an ink but without the high contrast that I like. Of course if I worked more than a half hour on a drawing my opinion would be different so I’m going to keep my pencils sharp for another go at this.

  1. I feel envious, because even when you are not doing your “best” work, you are still doing amazing work (to me, at least). I hope now that I’m done studying, I can focus on doing some sort of writing every day.

    1. Yeah, keeping up constant motivation is always a challenge. I think the key is finding something that your excited about and pursuing it relentlessly. The hard part is finding something that excites you that much.

I am an Artist and a programmer currently living in the amazing state of Washington. I have a passion for art, but I'm stubborn as hell with it. My day is complete only when I do some piece of art each day, no matter how small. "There was a dream that was Rome. You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it would vanish, it was so fragile."
