I finished up the textural background I started in the last session of this painting and I can’t wait for it to dry.
Once it dries I will work on the design of the humming bird and clean up all the edges. There are a few lines that look a bit stilted and need more fluid gesture. I hope to correct this next session.
What went well?
The texture is fun to do and I love adding some touches of color.
What didn’t go so well?
I will still need to clean up some of the background next to the humming bird as it looks too much like a shadow of the design.
What did I learn?
I don’t think the image shows it well but when looking at the painting the added colors really infuses some movement.
