Drawing Involves the Whole Body

Drawing when done correctly involves the whole body. A delicate gradation is made with the body hunched and focused. But a rough texture is done standing and energetic like conducting a symphony.

Make Space

After some deep thought I’ve decided to cut out one of my daily exercises for now and make space for what is most important. At some point in the future I will return to my Steve Huston exercises.

I decided to take a relaxing pace with my art session this morning. I still kept my warm-up to 15 minutes but I allowed myself to get lost in the other drawings.

The Delicacy of Graphite

For years I’ve ignored graphite and consistently used charcoal. But I really love the delicacy of graphite now especially with this drawing of Yoda.

Charcoal Over Graphite

I was wrong. Charcoal can be used over graphite, it just takes a careful touch and the right softness of charcoal.

Changing My Materials

I’m changing my materials for the Fandom Fitness drawings and instead of using a combination of charcoal and graphite I’m just using graphite for Yoda.
