I’m awake super early and getting my art done before surgery.
I have my second surgery on my ear today. The first one didn’t quite fix my hearing but I’m confident that this one will do the trick. But, I MUST get my art time in every day so I showed up early and got it done before the rest of my day was blown up.
On days like this I like to fall back to simple charcoal on newsprint and a photograph of a figure. Thank you NMA for all the awesome reference photos.
The gesture study has lots of issues but I’m okay with that. Mistakes are part of this great game! Plus I know that if I wanted to take this drawing to a much more accurate finish all it would take is more time. I only spent 30 minutes on it this morning.

Rest up the rest of the day and get back to my regular day as soon as I can.
