Daily Art #3052

Not as much time on art as I would like today but I have other awesome projects!

I’m always complaining about how much time I have on art daily but I shouldn’t because I fill a good portion of my day with art stuff. Of course most of it is not me painting and drawing. But I feel that if I can get in at least 1.5 hours of focused painting and drawing a day I’m doing great.

Today most of my time was taken up by getting ready for the alpha release of CreatQuest. This project is so amazing that I can’t wait to see where it will go and I’m pumped up to grow it daily. Check it out if you get a chance.

For the painting today I worked slowly and started on the face neutralizing all the colors and fixing any drawing mistakes. I added a tube of burnt umber to my palette today from Geneva Fine Art. The premix their tubes of oil with medium and clove oil for slow drying. The slow dry is great for burnt umber because it dries over night, but the viscosity of the paint turned my whole palette into a fluid mess. It was too wet for me. Like I said in my last post I like my paints “dry”.

That was the only issue today, and another learning experience. Yay!
