Daily Art #3051

I like my oil paints “dry”.

While working on the first session this morning I’ve come to the realization that I like keeping my oil paints as “dry” as possible. Not a lot of medium, or none at all.

I like the bristles on the brush splayed out, except when doing very fine detail, making brush marks through the whole painting. There is something more natural about doing it this way. As soon as I add medium to the paint it gets applied to the canvas in a smooth patch like painting a wall with a roller. No texture at all.
